Dr. Mukesh Rajani
Dr. Rajani qualified from Westminster Medical School, University of London MB BS MRCS LRCP in 1976. He
subsequently obtained the DRCOG and MRCGP. He joined Lister House in 1980 after completing the GP vocational
training in general practice. His medical interests are cardiology, strokes, safeguarding children and medicines
management.
Lister Medical Centre was the first practice in Harlow to become a fund holding practice in the early 1990s and
this was set up by Mukesh who quickly demonstrated his ability and skill in managing this aspect of our
practice. His role at Lister House includes practice administration, finance and management.
Mukesh sat as GP representative on the Harlow Primary Care Group board and continued as an executive committee
member when it became a Trust in April 2001.
He is currently a member of the Essex Cardiac & Stroke Network Board, the West Essex Area Prescribing
Committee and the Essex Safeguarding Managed Clinical Network.

Dr. Miranda Roberts
Dr. Roberts qualified from the Royal Free Hospital, London. She joined Lister Medical Medical Centre in 1992
after completing her vocational training in general practice. She spent one year as a GP trainee under the wing
of Dr. George, who was a GP trainer at the time. She works part time at Lister Medical Centre.
Married with three children, Miranda's interest is in mental health and sits on various committees on this
subject, and in diabetes and commissioning.

Dr. Puspha Mistry
Dr. Mistry qualified MbChB from the University of Manchester in 1986. As Surgical House Officer she undertook 2
minor surgery operating sessions per week. She completed her Vocational Training in General Practice at the
Princess of Wales Hospital, Bridgend, Mid Glamorgan in 1991, and then worked in Paediatrics at the Lister
Hospital in Stevenage.
Dr. Mistry joined the Lister Medical Centre in July 1994. She set up the surgery's Minor Ops clinic in 1998 and
has provided the service for the patients of Lister House since then. Her other interests are Prescribing and
the preparation of Clinical Guidelines for Doctors and Nurses of the Practice.
In June 2007 she obtained the MRCGP. With a view to developing her role in teaching she obtained a teaching
qualification in 2009. In April 2009 she obtained the DFSRH and subsequently obtained letters of competence for
fitting the contraceptive implant and coils. As a result the Practice can now offer full family planning
services.
Her outside interests are gardening, hosting family and friends, theatre, eating out, running and circuit
training.

Dr. Lola Ogbonnaya
Dr. Ogbonnaya qualified from UCH, Ibadan, Nigeria in 1987. Before joining Lister Medical Centre in January
1999, Lola worked in General Practice in Bishop's Stortford.
Her interests include reading, travel and gardening.

Dr. Beata Grabarska-Kreiss
Dr. Kreiss joined Lister Medical Centre at the beginning of November 2002. She was already an experienced
General Practitioner having worked in that capacity for eight years.
Prior to entering General Practice, she spent a number of years in hospital medicine working in diverse
specialities such as paediatrics; ear, nose and throat surgery; rheumatology; obstetrics and gynaecology; and
geriatric medicine.
Her hobbies include reading, the countryside and walking. Her "weakness" is a love of fashion.

Dr. John Portelly
Dr. Portelly qualified at the London Hospital Medical School. For many years he has worked as a partner in a
health centre in Harlow so knows the area well. He has experience in minor surgery and has undergone training in
the care of patients with substance abuse. More recently he has worked for a commercial company that ran failing
practices.
His interests include travelling (having been to 6 continents), rugby (an avid England fan) and gardening.

Dr. Cyrus Fernandes
Cyrus qualified from Barts and The Royal London in 2001. He joined the practice in 2006, having been a salaried
doctor for a year in nearby Ongar.
He is a full time partner. His main interests include GP education and Paediatrics. He is a GP Trainer and
Primary Care tutor for Harlow and Epping. He is also the RCGP curriculum guardian for paediatrics.
Since 2011 he has also been chair of the local Children’s and Maternity programme board.
His hobbies include singing and supporting Liverpool Football Club.

Dr. Kate Tully
Dr. Tully qualified from the London Hospital Medical College and has worked in various capacities as a GP in
Harlow since 1990.
She joined Lister Medical Centre in September 2006.
Her medical interests include cancer, palliative care, research and medical education. She is a GP trainer,
tutor and appraiser.
She is married with three children. Her interests outside medicine include church-based activities, reading,
the theatre and cinema.

Dr. Faisal Sattar
Faisal qualified from Guy’s & St Thomas Hospital in 2000. He initially worked in Paediatrics and
Paediatric Cardiology for 5 years after which he made the change to become a GP. Soon after qualifying as a GP,
he joined the practice in January 2010. His interests have expanded into Adult Cardiology and he currently runs
a Cardiology Clinic on a weekly basis in Barnet. His other areas of interest within General Practice include
joint injections and involvement in Practice Finance. His time outside the practice is mainly consumed by his
four children which explains his tired look! He is a ¾ time partner.

Dr. Jeyaseelan Selvarajah
Jey qualified from Barts and The London Medical School in 2005. He joined the practice in January 2011 having
completed his training at Lister Medical Centre. His main interest are medical education and is involved in
teaching medical students from Barts and The London Medical school. He is also the joint lead in medicines
management. His hobbies include part-time DJing, travelling and wa football.
