Arranging a Medical or Getting a Form Completed
From time to time, certain patients require a private medical examination not part of personal medical services.
These include Taxi driving medicals, Public Service Vehicle (PSV) medicals and Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) medicals,
life and mortgage insurance examinations.
These medicals are usually performed by the patient's general practitioner at the end of (evening) surgery or at a
time of mutual convenience. By telephoning one of the secretaries arrangements can be made. A payment is required and
the secretary will inform the patient at that time.
Forms that need to be completed (i.e. Holiday Insurance Cancellation forms or passport application forms) should be
handed at reception. Usually, they are completed within 48 hours - the exception being if the doctor concerned is off
sick or on holiday. The reception staff can advise on the fee involved. The forms should be collected from reception
where payment is taken.
